Chip content for a node's live density-guard state: a thinned-lattice glyph
plus 1/K while the guard thins the node, null otherwise (unthinned,
off-screen, no record, guard off). Deliberately silent at keep 1 so the row
only gains a chip when something is actually being left out of the draw.
The LOD chip to its left is unaffected by thinning — every resident element
stays resident — which is exactly the misreading this chip is here to
prevent, and the tooltip says so. Shared by the initial render and the
incremental patcher.
