MESH_PHYSICAL_MATERIALS_SPEC.md §3.3) into the renderer's narrowed form.
Warn-and-fall-back per field, like the other extractors: a typo in source
becomes the room, a malformed probe becomes auto, an out-of-range resolution
snaps to the bounds — and each is said once at the console rather than silently
lighting the scene with something the author did not ask for. Returns
undefined when the block is absent, so the caller can tell "authored the
default" from "authored nothing".
