Handles both TypedArray (Float32Array, Uint8Array, Uint16Array,
BigInt64Array, etc.) and DataView. TypedArrays expose .slice();
DataView needs an explicit buffer slice to preserve byte offsets.
Exported only for unit testing; not part of the public package
